RULES AND PLAYING CONDITIONS
The Ground permit is vaid from 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM only. The extension of time will not be possible after 03:00 PM.
The tournament would be played on league basis.
The venue will be Game Theory, Indira Nagar (https://maps.app.goo.gl/QahKdAyjqysEL8bE6).
All players should be employees of Volvo organization.
Approved size 6 balls will be used during the tournament.
Players are not allowed to change their team in the middle of tournament and is allowed to play for only one team.
Matches will be played as per the schedule/fixture given to the teams.
Teams & Players
Each team must have 3 players on court + 2 substitute (maximum 5 total).
Substitutions can only occur during a dead ball, before a check-ball.
Court & Ball
Games are played on half-court with 1 hoop.
Standard size 7 ball (men & women use the same).
The 3-point line will be treated as the 2-point line (shots beyond arc = 2 pts, inside = 1 pt).
Scoring
Inside arc = 1 point
Beyond arc = 2 points
Free throw = 1 point
Game Duration & Winning
Game is played to 21 points OR 10 minutes, whichever comes first.
Win by 2 rule applies if score is tied at 20–20.
If tied at end of regulation, first team to score 2 points in overtime wins.
Possession & Check Ball
Possession is determined by coin toss/rock-paper-scissors.
After each made basket, defense gets possession (ball must be cleared past arc).
Check ball at top of arc to start play after dead balls.
Clearing the Ball
After defensive rebound or steal, team must take the ball beyond the arc before attempting to score.
Clearing requires both feet outside the arc.
Fouls & Free Throws
Fouls follow standard basketball rules.
Team fouls 1–6: common fouls, no free throws unless in act of shooting.
7th foul onward: 2 free throws per foul.
10th foul onward: 2 free throws + possession.
Shooting fouls:
Inside arc → 1 free throw.
Beyond arc → 2 free throws.
Unsportsmanlike or technical → 2 free throws + possession.
Time Outs
Each team will get only 1 timeout of 30 seconds for the entire 10 mins match
The team Captain must report to the Officials desk at least 30 minutes before the Scheduled start of the match. If a team fails to report before 15 mins of the reporting time the opponents will be given walk over. By the term ‘reporting’ it is intended that the captain should handover the list of players, be ready for the toss and should be ready with the team to take the field as and when the umpires want them to. If both teams report late at the venue then umpire/ Mangement might call off the match or deduct overs of the match.
The Team Captain is responsible for informing all of the teammates about when the team will be playing and on what time.
The tournament organizer reserves the right to frame/ change/ modify any of the rules at any stage of the tournament if found necessary.
Strictly only Non Marking shoes are allowed inside the court premises.
Qualified and professional panel referees will be posted for this tournament. During play the decision of the referees would be final and binding on all players.
Players will be allowed 4 personal fouls per match. Player disqualification will be done on the 5th personal foul.
There will be 2 officials and 1 official scorekeeper for every game.
General FIBA rules will be applicable for the gameplay apart from the one specified here or by the officials before the start of the tournament.
